What is reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on of hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us. If one’s life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stressed, if it’s high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki works on our energetic state to promote and support our own internal ability to heal.
What are the benefits of reiki
Reiki is linked to a range of physical and emotional health benefits, including better sleep, improved mood, and pain relief. Research suggests Reiki helps your body return to a state of relaxation, which allows it to heal from damage brought on by stress, injury, or disease. It can be used as a complementary therapy with other standard medical techniques, it can help people recover after surgery and manage symptoms of diseases.
What to expect from a reiki session?
The client is fully reclined comfortably on a massage table and fully clothed. The practitioner will move their hands around your body. They may touch you lightly or have their hands just above your body. You may feel a very slight tingling, heat, or energy, or nothing at all. You may feel a peace and calm in your mind or physically in general. It is different for all clients but deep relation is almost always felt.
